Vendor Fair Reflections

So who knew? I LOVE vendor fairs! Visiting new places, meeting new people and sharing my work has been such a joyous and fulfilling adventure. I am HOOKED! I was so afraid my crocheted items wouldn’t sell or appeal to customers but boy was I wrong. If you are a crafter I am here to encourage you to just go for it. Put yourself out there and see what happens. I am so glad I did!

Here are a few things I have learned: '

  1. You never know what will sell. Every market and customer is unique. I take a wide variety of products to showcase my work and offer something for everyone. Some shows beanies sell and other times they don’t. You never know.

  2. Try not to let other crafters who are selling the same items intimidate you. Trust me - there is plenty of business to go around and if your prices are competitive you will get sales.

  3. Decide ahead of time if you will haggle on your prices or not. I mark my prices based on fair seller value and I stand firm. You know what costs you have in creating your art. Dont sell yourself short. One person may walk away from an item but there will be another who will come along and purchase the same item without batting an eye.

  4. Have a checklist so you won’t forget anything.

  5. Just fun and enjoy the show!
